Introduction
Welcome to the website of the Arab Middle East Office (AMEO) of the Heinrich Böll Stiftung in Ramallah. We hope to enhance our service to provide you with interesting and necessary information around our work in the occupied Palestinian territory, Jordan and Egypt.
The Heinrich Böll Stiftung is part of the Green political movement that has developed worldwide as a response to the traditional politics of socialism, liberalism, and conservatism. Our main tenets are: democracy, ecology and international politics.
The AMEO is responsible for projects and programs in Palestine, Egypt, and Jordan. Other offices in the region include the Israel office in Tel Aviv and the Middle East Office in Beirut. Locally, the Foundation works in the following main program areas: 
  • Democratic participation and gender democracy
  • Foreign policy and policy analysis
  • Environmental justice and climate politics

Yemen’s revolution: The lack of public reasoning

- The sound of heart beats was deafening in Sanaa’s 20th street when protestors moved in the demonstration’s forefront. Around 15 snipers were positioned on rooftops on two sides of Dairi street intersection with 20th street. Protestors planned on Friday, March 18th, to expand the sit-in area and to erect new tents at the intersection.

Gender Kicks

- On the occasion of the FIFA Women World Cup in Germany and the Gender Kicks 2011 program, Heinrich Boll Foundation and the Goethe-Institut hosted a girls's soccer cup in cooperation with Right To Play on July 9th at the Majed Asa'ad Stadium in Al-Bireh.

Farewell/ Welcome Reception

On 31 January 2012, Heinrich Böll Stiftung Ramallah welcomed official representatives, partners, colleagues and friends on the occasion of the farewell of the former director Mr. Joachim Paul and the welcome of the new director Dr. René Wildangel at Leaders Hall in Al-Maysoun, Ramallah. The reception came within the framework of the visit of the Co-Chairman of the German Green Party, Mr. Cem Özdemir and Member of the German Parliament, Mr. Jerzy Montag and the presentation of a project by our partner The Institute for Jerusalem Studies.
